Bob Webb '63

R W Webb (Bob) has extensive roots in Southern AZ.  He is a third generation Arizonan, graduated from the University of Arizona in 1963 with a B. S. in Business Administration. He has two children, both graduates of Salpointe High and the University of Arizona.

He served in the U S Navy as a pilot in the Vietnam war. He returned home to Tucson in Dec. of 1970 to inter into the business world.

He has successfully owned and operated retail, wholesale and manufacturing concerns in Tucson for the last 46 years. During this time he has done stock offerings, formed limited and general partnerships and operated as a sole proprietor. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects of putting people together to make things happen. He was a Business Broker with Kiernan & Associates for three years before starting his Brokerage firm, R W Webb Consulting, LLC., in January of 2001.

Bob founded the 1st winery in the state of Arizona in 1980, founding member of The Arizona Wine Growers Association serving on that Board for 16 years. Was appointed chairman of the Arizona State Wine Commission by Governor Symington, served as Chair for three years. Founded Tucson Executive Association 1999, past President. Was designated  Distinguished Alumni Citizen of the year 1990 University of Arizona for work performed in the AZ. Wine industry. He has designed and built Three Wineries in Arizona, one in Livermore, California. He also built a winery in Hermosillo Sonora in 1983.

Bob is a member of the Arizona Association of Business Brokers (Board of Directors 2002 to 2005), International Business Brokers Association, Founder of the Tucson Association of Executives, Tucson Rotary Club, member Arizona National Golf Club, V F W Post 549, Institute of Business Appraisers and the local chapter of CCIM, past President of the Caballeros del Sol. He serves on the 770 Club board of directors. The 770 Club supports the crew and families of the USS Tucson. He founded the Tucson Sea Cadet Squadron in 1975 and was Commanding Officer of that unit for four years. He also served on the Tucson Fiesta Bowl Committee 2008 and 2009. He also serves on the Pima College Foundation Board.

The Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano appointed him a member of Arizona Mexico Commission.

He is the Designated Real Estate Broker for R W Webb Consulting, LLC and over sees and is responsible for five other Brokers.

As a Business Broker, He has evaluated and recast financials for over one hundred-thirty business in Southern Arizona to determine their Market value since 1997. He has successfully represented numerous Buyers and Sellers through the arduous process of Business acquisition and sale.

While, Bob was an undergraduate, he served the chapter as Social Chairman, Pledge Trainer, Vice President, and President. He was the first President in the “New House” and membership rose from 26 to 66. As alumnus, he served on the Alumni Board when Frank Naughton ’88 was President in the 90’s. He is currently helping John Robertson ’68 organize a 60’s reunion every year during Homecoming week.

He has a son, Rob ’94 (AZ Beta) and a daughter Sunny Bliss (Pi Phi), who are both graduates from the University of Arizona.

Bob says, “The brothers in the house helped shape my life, taught a kid from Douglas a lot of social skills and gave me the confidence to be at ease in any environment, be it having lunch with the Mayor of Manila, representing the US Navy or escorting Miss Australia to a dance during the Miss Universe Pageant. The most important thing is the life long Friends that I made. There is no one on this earth knows me like Brother Dave Barclay.”
