Doug attended Arizona State University from 1975-1979 and was initiated into Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon in 1975.
An interesting fact about Doug is that he has been in two movies! Specifically, Star is Born (Pierson, 1976) as an extra on set and security for the concert. He also starred in Raising
Arizona (Coen, 1987) as the adult version of the kidnapped baby. His professional career consists of many local Arizona companies, from 1976-1980 he was the Youth Etc. Recreational director as well as a child care team manager. In 1980, he started at the Arizona Department of Corrections as an Administrator up until 1985 when he joined the American Red Cross (Maricopa County Chapter) as a HR Manager. In 1986 he started at Churchill Productions as a Sales Manager and is currently working for Northwestern Mutual. At Northwestern, Doug started as a special agent, into a college unit director, field director, managing director and is now a wealth management advisor.
Doug has also given back to the Arizona community in many ways through his career. Within the American Red Cross, he participated in Hands Across America, and acted as a Disaster Shelter Manager, First Aid Instructor and WSIT. He served as a Volunteer Leader and Committee Member for the Young Life of Phoenix & Tucson, was a board member at the Overton Reserve HOA and La Cholla Vista HOA. He was the Co-Chair of Site Base at Squaw Peak School and the Arizona State Prison Rodeo Grand Chairman. Since being in Tucson, Doug has made an effort to help the youngmen of SigEp Beta Chapter and volunteers his time as the Alumni Volunteer Committee Secretary.
Debbie and Doug have been married for 40 years and have 3 children, Allie, Alex, and Zach, who have given them seven beautiful grandchildren. Doug hopes in the years to come he is the best son, husband, grandpa and dad he can be. His goal is to read everyday and to make an impact on all the things he does in life.
